Old Mac Daddy lies among the apple orchards and pine-whispering slopes of the Elgin Valley. The estate has a quiet lake with its own sandy beach, and a beautifully manicured stretch of open lawn at the water’s edge where you can say your vows, surrounded by nature.

Questions

Where are the ceremonies held?

Ceremonies take place on the lawn beside the lake. The deck over the water can also be used for canapés and photographs.

How many guests can you host?

We can seat up to 100 guests in The Barn restaurant. If your guest count exceeds 100, additional hired items will incur a surcharge. We do not host standing or cocktail-style wedding receptions.

How many guests can stay overnight?

Our standard accommodation sleeps 56 guests, with space for up to 20 additional guests on extra beds in selected units. Apple Grove, our executive villa, can accommodate another six guests at an additional cost.

Is there a minimum stay?

Weekend weddings require a two-night booking. For midweek weddings, you can book for one or two nights, except for the night before a public or school holiday.

Can we use our own caterer?

No. All wedding catering is prepared by our own kitchen. We work with you to create a menu that suits your wedding.

Can we bring our own wine?

Yes. You are welcome to bring your own wine and bubbly, subject to a corkage fee. All other drinks must be purchased through our restaurant. If there is a particular bottle you would like, we are happy to try to source it for you.

Can we bring our own wedding cake?

Yes. Speak to us beforehand about storing and presenting your cake.

How late can the party go?

DJs and bands are welcome inside the Barn. Music volume is reduced at midnight, with last drinks at 12:30am. The venue and bar can remain open until 2am for an additional fee.

Can we throw confetti?

Yes, provided it is natural and biodegradable, such as flower petals or bubbles. Sparklers and sky lanterns are not permitted because of the fire risk.
