At Old Mac Daddy we’re all about that slow-paced, feel-good lifestyle. Since inception almost 10 years ago, our mission has been to provide an ideal getaway for family and friends, a slice of paradise tucked between the hills and apple trees.
When we opened Old Mac Daddy all those years ago, the lodge consisted of our communal Barn area, the iconic Airstream trailer suites and one self-catering unit, the stylish Daddy’s Villa.
Since then however, Old Mac Daddy has expanded and from a humble Airstream trailer park, we’ve grown into a full-on resort, complete with our own lake and beach, as well as a couple of additional accommodation options.
Most noteworthy of these new additions to our offering would have to be the cool selection of tented campsites that each provide that authentic outdoorsy camping vibe, just without the fuss of having to set up camp yourself. Indeed, all your comforts and conveniences have been considered.
First up, was Daddy’s Hideaway, our most secluded and romantic glampsite.
Perched on top of our peaceful valley home, the Hideaway luxury tent offers supreme privacy, being removed from the main resort hub, making you feel like the valley is all yours to enjoy.
Boasting stylish amenities, the Hideaway is ideal for a couple’s retreat and even has its own private plunge pool, as well as a heated bathtub and swinging deck chairs.
Then there’s Daddy’s Den, a classic campsite that combines the rustic nature of camping with the convenience of hassle-free set up.
The campsite includes two tented rooms, one with a double bed and the other with two singles and can therefore ideally accommodate a family of four.
Daddy’s Den includes an honesty bar, twin hammocks and is fully equipped with shower and ablution facilities.
And finally, there’s Big Daddy’s Den. Similar to Daddy’s Den, only bigger and more secluded,
Big Daddy’s Den is made up of 3 individual tents, accommodating a maximum of 6 people, with the option of adding a fourth tent to cater for 8 campers.
The first 2 tents are both furnished with a double bed and the third contains 2 single beds. If needed, we can re-arrange the sleeping set up to suit your individual needs.
While the epic views and privacy of Big Daddy’s Den are most appealing, it’s likely the campsite’s exclusive wood-fired hot tub that is the major highlight of this tented campsite and the one feature you’ll want to experience for yourself.
And of course, as with all of Old Mac Daddy’s accommodation options, breakfast in the Barn is included for all overnight guests, glampers too 😉
